The Tower of Babel
It may be that the original Protevangel (The first proclamation of the gospel) recorded in Gen1:14 was later depicted by Adams descendants in the stars as a permanent record for following generations; If so, Satan’s first order of business would have been to try and corrupt that record and confound Gods message of hope. The stars were never chaotic in their movement (Job38:31,32; Isa40:26), all Satan could do is give them a different story.
Nimrod by seeking to open another door to the spiritual world gave Satan this opportunity.
Perhaps only a hundred years earlier the world had been destroyed by the flood. There may have been as few as 1000 people at the Tower of Babel. To Satan it must have looked as though the word of God would indeed fail but faith in God’s promise was in the hearts of a few (Noah, Shem and others); but by the time of the Confusion of tongues (Ps2:1-4) and the Dispersion, Satan had sown his tares among the wheat.
