The Plan of God in the Work of Christ

There are, no doubt, millions who understand that God has come in the flesh but
have not yet come to understand what has been accomplished at the cross.
His Substitutionary Death
All the righteous judgments of God against the sinner were born on the cross by Christ.
Christ Himself is: The “satisfaction” for our sins.1John2:2; 4:10
The all sufficient one time sacrifice. Hebrews9:25; 10:10-12
Through His blood is the “forgiveness” of our sins. Ephesians1:7
This was necessary because:
1) Gods righteousness is absolute. Psalm11:7; 89:14;145:17; Habakkuk1:13
2) All men are sinners. Romans 3:23; Psalms 14:2,3;143:2
Sin has brought spiritual death to all men. Rom6:23; 1Corinthians15:22
3) God desires fellowship with man for all eternity. Ephesians2:6,7,19,20
His Imputed Righteousness
The one who has placed his faith in the work of Christ as the adequate payment for his sins has the very Righteousness of Christ imputed to him. This is an amazing thing! 2Corinthians 5:21; Philippians3:9; Romans3:21,22 . This allows us to be at home with God and not simply uncomfortable guests. 2Corinthians5:8
Our Relative Righteousness
This is the way that seems right to man but leads to death. Proverbs14:12 - why?
1) God is impartial Acts10:34; Romans2:11
2) God is debtor to no man.Job41:11
3) Man cannot earn salvation thru his works Isaiah64:6; Romans4:4,5; Titus3:5
4) Man has a sinful nature(due to the fall)Romans3:10; Psalms143:2 and cannot continually keep Gods perfect standard (the moral law). James2:10
5) God offers salvation as a free gift. Romans6:23
His Perfect Work and Our Faith Response
Since God is satisfied with the work of Christ upon the cross for our sins, He gives us:
1) Justification on the basis of rightly directed faith. Romans3:24,28; Romans5:1; Galations2:16
2)Eternal Life as a free gift to all who believe. John 3:16; John5:24; Ephesians2:8,9; 1John2:25
3) Regeneration of the human spirit (the new birth) John3:1-21; 20:31 Colossians2:13; 2 Corinthians5:17; Ephesians2:4,5; By the word of God James1:18; 1Peter1:23
Eternal Life Means Eternal Life
It is not Gods desire that ones hope in Christ be deferred for any reason.Proverbs13:12
That the one who has believed on Christ is eternally secure in Him can be seen in passages concerning:
God the Father Romans8:34-39: 1Peter1:3-5
God the Son John6:37; 10:27-30; Romans5:8-10; Hebrews7:25
God the Holy Spirit John14:16,17; Ephesians1:13,14;4:30;
Other Passages Romans11:29; Hebrews13:5; Psalms34:22
The word Gospel means “good news” and this is why. Have you trusted the work of Christ as the answer to your sin problem? Do it today! Acts4:12

What does the future hold?

The Influence of Evolution in Future Events
Perhaps no lie has exerted more influence upon humanity than that of Evolution. The idea that the mind is just a function of evolved brain matter was promoted by Thomas Huxley. What is likely to be the influence of this false paradigm in the future? In his book “When Will Jesus Come”, David Hunt suggests the following. “A number of cults, such as Unity School of Christianity and the Church of Religious Science, teach the same lie. They assert that the only thing that distinguishes Jesus from the rest of us was His attainment to a “higher state of consciousness” known as “Christ consciousness.” Whoever attains this Christ consciousness becomes a Christ just like He was. When enough of mankind – a “critical mass” – reach that state, the world will be transformed. Such is a major hope of the New Age. That the Antichrist will present himself as one who has attained to this state (and he will have the satanic/psychic powers to prove it – 2 Thessalonians 2:9,10) seems apparent from Paul’s description of Antichrist’s reasons for exalting himself as “God.” That the world including Israel will embrace the Antichrist can be seen from Christ’s words in John 5:43 “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive”. Should the proud horn of Islam’s non- biblical unitarian- monotheism be broken, a New World Order will certainly fill the vacuum. A world view still void of the biblical Christ and His perfect atonement for sin will remain predominate until Christ physically returns to rescue believing Israel and from there establish His perfect world order over all the earth. (Mat 21:27,28; Rev19: 11-15)
Reconciliation
To be reconciled to God is the universal need of all mankind. Why? Rom 3:23; Col2:13; Eph2:4,5,6
Man can only be reconciled to God through Christ. Col.1:19-22 The result of reconciliation between two parties is peace (the removal of hostilities).
Two fallacies concerning reconciliation are
1) Man can bring himself back into fellowship with God. Many false religions of the
world use this (rotten egg casserole) recipe. Isa 64:6
2) God can adjust Himself to man. This would be like trying to live with an unwilling skunk. God is Holy and unchanging in character. (Hab1:13; Mal.3:6)
God can adjust man to Himself; this is reconciliation 2Cor5:18-19
Man must be willing to be reconciled. 2Cor5:20
God’s adjustment of man to Himself involves Christ’s expiation of man’s sin through
the cross and the imputation of Christ’s righteousness. 2Cor5:21 Both are
necessary for man to be at home with God. 2Cor5:8
Through Christ’s death man is reconciled and God is propitiated (satisfied) Heb2:17
Reconciliation of man to God through the blood of Christ’s cross is the only answer
to conflicting world views. Reconciliation allows man to come out from the
bushes without reprisal. Rom5:10,11

Why it all Matters

Reconciliation, God’s Plan for Fearful Man

Man fears a God of absolute righteousness because fundamentally he knows he must be rejected by such a God. Reconciliation is God’s plan to bring man out of the bushes. All the essential aspects for receiving His reconciliation can be seen in Genesis 3.
1) Man is aware of his enmity (alienation) toward God and seeks to hide from Him.
2) Man hides behind the physical world. (vs.8) (today-atheistic naturalism)
3) God comes out for man and calls for him. (vs.9)
4) Man realizes he cannot hide from God and responds.
5) Man acknowledges his sinful nature. (vs.10)
6) God exposes man’s sin (disobedience), proclaims the consequences of sin (judgment), proclaims the One who will come (Messiah) and deliver from the power of the serpent (Satan) Heb2:14, and provides a temporal covering for mans sinfulness (through the shedding of innocent blood) until The Deliverer (Christ) should come. (vs.14-21)

Man hides from God either through atheistic or pantheistic naturalism where man reasons that no One made us or no one can really know who made us. The universe then revolves around the will of man (humanism), where rules are simply conventions from culture or evolved for survival value (moral relativism). In this world view there remains no objective bases (God’s word) for deciding right and wrong, only a subjective bases (situational ethics). Although we live in a fallen world, it can still be argued that man’s social ills today and through history are a consequence of embracing the false world view of evolution

Man has good reason to believe that God exists from the order and complexity of the natural world (Rom.1:18-20). Man is also able to contemplate a future without end (Eccl 3:11). He may hope in a benevolent God (Heb11:6) but this is as far as the natural revelation can bring him; to know God personally he must also be provided the spiritual revelation through which his soul and spirit may respond. This has been provided objectively through the written word of God (the Bible). The doctrine of reconciliation underscores the fact that man and God have been separated by man’s sin.
Probability Studies of the Mechanism of Evolution
Evolution supposes that life, its DNA and genetic code with its sophisticated information of instructions came into existence through naturalistic means. We are told that given enough time life by this mechanism is probable. To validate the mechanism of evolution Dr. Kenyon (author of Biochemical Predestination), recognizing that the assembly instructions (DNA code) were far more complex than the parts (proteins) themselves, set out to understand how the first proteins could be assembled without instructions (self replication). He was unable to find a model which attracted amino-acids to construct proteins; no self replicating cycle could be established. He concluded his effort saying “There is not the slightest chance of chemical evolution creating a biological cell”. Why is this so? Proteins are three dimensional structures, and a certain level of folding is necessary for it to perform a function, this requires at least 75 amino acids all having the right bonds between them. They must all be “left-handed” bonds (this is true of all life forms!) all the amino-acids must link up in a specific sequence like letters in a sentence.
What is the probability of forming a single short functioning protein by chance? one in a hundred thousand trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion! (1x10 125). A minutely complex cell requires 300 -500 protein molecules!
Microbes to men evolution requires an increase in genetic information from 500,000 DNA letters to over three billion (the human cell nucleus). (Ps139:13-16) The scientist Sir Fredrick Hoyle has also calculated a probability for an imaginary self replicating protein to be less than 1 in 10 40,000. Hoyle comments “The scientific world has been bamboozled into believing that evolution has been proved. Nothing could be further from the truth”. Could chance and a progressive form of natural selection be this lucky? Behe answers “Luck is a metaphysical speculation. Scientific explanations invoke causes”.

Darwinism - Operational or Origin Science?
In 1978 The Supreme Court ruled that teaching Creationism was a violation of the separation of church and state.Yet creationist have explained many processes found in nature and interpreted many geological events with better models than the evolutionist.
Biased writers are often guilty of equivocation where they use the terms “evolution” and “science” interchangeably, but does evolution deserve the status of operational science? Dr. Phillip Skell, an antibiotic researcher during WWII, examined the outstanding bio-discoveries of the past century. This included the Double Helix, The characterization of Ribosomes, Mapping of Genomes, Research on medications and drug reactions, Food production and sanitation, New surgeries and resistance to antibiotics and pesticides. He found that Darwin’s theory had provided no discernible guidance but was brought in after the breakthroughs. Macro- Evolution appears to be the stone soup of modern scientific investigation. Since evolution can neither be observed, demonstrated or tested through experiment it must be classified as origin science. Henry Morris comments “..it is fair to conclude that no truly significant accomplishment of modern science depends on evolution or supports evolution! There would certainly be no detriment to real scientific learning if creation were incorporated as an alternative to evolution in school curricula”.
He further states “If creation is excluded from the schools because it is compatible with Christian “fundamentalism”, should not evolution also be banned since it is the basis of communism and nazism?”
- The Age of the Earth , a biblical chronology
Ron Merryman makes the following comment, “The Problem Simply Stated: Genesis 11:10-28 appears to be a chronological genealogy from the Flood to Abraham. By interpreting this as a strict chronology and by adding the years therein to the date of Abraham (which is relatively well established), one would find that the flood had to occur in the 3rd Millennium B.C.”
Archbishop Usshur (1581-1656) – He wrote magnum opus (The Annuals of the World). He took the view that the biblical record in Gen11:10-28 presented a strict chronology.
Other scholars have taken the view that the main purpose was to show how God persevered the Messianic line. Documents may have been kept for the purpose of memorization and Moses may have had access to these.
Time between Exodus to construction of Solomon’s Temple ….480 yrs (Kgs6:1)
Hebrews residence in Egypt….430 yrs (Ex12:40,41)
Historical records indicate time btw.Temple construction and birth of Christ 970 yrs
So Jacob entered Egypt in 1880B.C. when he was 130yrs old (Gen47:9)
Time btw Jacob entering Egypt to Abraham’s migration to Canaan…215yrs (Gen21:5;12:4;47:9;etc) Abraham was 75 yrs old then.
So Abraham was established in Canaan at 2095B.C.
At the birth of Abram, Terah was 130yrs old (Gen12:4)
Time btw the Flood and the birth of Terah 222yrs (Gen11:10-24)
So Noah and family left the Ark in 2522B.C. or 4,528 yrs from the present.
The Masoretic text indicates the time from the end of Creation week to the flood is 1656yrs
Creation to the present would be 6184 years
There are some copy and translation errors between the various manuscripts.
None the less the differences derived are minor and contradict an evolutionary world view of an earth history of 4.6 billion years. Harold Coffin, in his 1980 book Origin by Design, shows these small differences The total time from Creation Week to A.D. 1980 are 6159yrs. (Masoretic); 6400yrs. (Samaritan); 7645yrs. (Septuagint). The Septuagint shows evidence that the translators and subsequent editors had problems with numerical data. Ex. An early found manuscript shows Methuselah having lived 14 years after the flood.

Evidence from Population Statistics
Henry Morris presents the following, consider the possibility that man may have arisen by evolution and reached a truly human status about a million years ago. A conservative normal growth rate that produced about 200 million people by the time of Christ would allow just 2.0014 people per family. In 25,000 generations (1 generation = 40yrs) this would mean that over 300 billion people would have lived and died on the earth! The question arises where are their bones and the animals who lived beside them? Henry Morris concludes, “…the simplest and most straightforward population models, based upon all the real population statistics that are available, clearly correlate with the biblical chronology as the true framework of human history.”

The Gap, Day Age and Literary Framework Theories

Literary Framework Theory – Evolutionary ages taken as true, But Creation week
merely an allegory. A Theistic Evolution view.

Day-Age Theory – Evolutionary ages are the same as the Creation days. Allegorical
interpretation where intermittent acts of Creation dispersed over long periods of time.
The acts of Creation are either by Evolution or Divine fiat. A Progressive Creation
view.
The Gap Theory – Evolutionary ages viewed as completed prior to Creation week. The
Evolutionary ages terminated by a global pre-Adamic catastrophe followed by
reconstruction. A view first promoted by Thomas Chalmers (1780-1847), it became
popular through G.H.Pembers work “Earths Earliest Ages” and C.I. Scofield included
it in his study bible in 1909. An early Dispensational view.

Note: The Evolutionary Ages are the geological ages formulated by Charles Lyell. These theories are an attempt to bring the word of God in line with the standard geological model.

A Chronological Problem with the GAP Theory
The GAP theory takes the view that the earth “became” a waste in Gen1:2 after having first been perfect in it’s initial creation Gen1:1. also Isa45:18 is used as a proof text to show that it was not initially created a empty waste. This chaotic waste is explained as a consequence of God’s judgment upon the angelic rebellion led by Satan. Most Gap theorist hold that the angels were created prior to Gen1:1 and point out that the angels shouted for joy when the foundations of the earth were laid (Job 38:7). Yet scripture indicates that the entirety of all God’s creative acts were completed in six days (Gen2:1; Exodus 20:11).This would include the angels. Since Ezk28:13 speaks of Satan in his unfallen state as an Anointed Cherub being in Eden (the garden of God) and since Eden was not established until after the creation of Adam (Gen2:8) Satan could not have fallen until after the creation of Adam. For a detailed reply to the Gap theorist exegesis ask for the supplemental handout “Concerning the Temporal GAP between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2”
by Ron Merryman.
Metamorphosis

Many organisms go through complex physical changes (Ontogenetic changes) in the course of their life from egg to adult. Examples include frogs, butterflies, amphibians and insects. These remarkable transformations are often presented as evolution demonstrated during an organisms life time. Yet there are literally thousands for gene coded instructions being carried out in the building of new proteins all necessary for the restructuring of the organism. In the pupa stage of a butterfly enzymes are programmed to dissolve the entire creature into a jelly like mass; the genetic instructions then begin to assemble the body of the butterfly, through a process that takes four days. Is the possibility of random mutations presenting this stack up of complex interactions preserved over time in partial form probable? On the contrary, this remarkable code of instructions must have been completely written in the genetic code from start to finish otherwise the supposed mechanism of evolution would place the transitional organism at a highly selective disadvantage. Evolutionist like to talk about gradual and incomplete metamorphosis in some insects such as grasshoppers and dragonflies yet their life cycles are completely programmed from their inception (Gen2:2) and according to their position in the supposed uniform geological column this has been the case for over 300 million years!

Just as God has a complete (perfect) life cycle plan for His creatures in the natural world, He also has a completed life cycle plan for man, both naturally and spiritually. The word metamorphosis comes from the Greek metamorphousthe and is used in scripture to describe both the believers physical and spiritual transformation. Our future physical transformation can be seen in our Lords transfiguration. (Mat17:2; Mar 9:2) We will have a body like His (Phil3:20,21;1Cor15:48-53) Most of us will follow our Lord through physical death as part of this transformation process. (1Cor15:37-38) Our glorious physical resurrection will be in His likeness (1Jon3:2) and is guaranteed (Eph13-14) For this we wait eagerly (Rom8:22,23)

Our spiritual metamorphosis (spiritual maturation process) begins with the new birth and continues to progress by the renewing of our minds (Rom12:2 ; Eph4:23-24; 2Cor3:18) to a true knowledge (Col 3:10) through testing (Jam1:2-4) In Him we are complete (Col 2:10)
A Critical Look at Macro-evolution

The Mechanism of Evolution
The mechanism of macro-evolution has never been observed. It usually is presented in
this fashion: Starting with some form of unorganized chemical matter, a rise in
complexity took place randomly through the influence of energy. It was preserved by a
mysterious process known as (a progressive form of) natural selection. This rise
in complexity was preserved as a result of some undefined advantage. This selection
process was repeated over and over again acting upon the latest example of preserved
complexity.
Because this rise in complexity itself is by random chance, the existence, preservation
and increase in complexity are all seen as taking place over vast spans of time. This
vertical progression to a higher complexity is said to bring forth new and different
kinds of life (Macro-evolution). Present life forms being the most recent expressions of
this (evolution) process.
1)Unorganized matter + energy + chance mutation + time = complexity
2)Complexity acted upon by progressive natural selection = preserved complexity
3)Complexity + time +mutation+ natural selection = increased complexity = new kinds

A Critical look at the Mechanism of Evolution
1)A progression from chaos to complex order is not observed in nature without a
preexisisting code of purposeful instructions. Energy moves from a higher to a lower
level (2nd law of thermal dynamics) Matter does the same. The stuff we buy wears
out, our bodies wear out etc.
2) Natural Selection is not observed as a progressive mechanism in nature; it is
observed as a conservative mechanism. It preserves the norm and assures that the
abnormal condition does not become predominate in a population. Ex. diabetes
3) Mutations are not observed in nature as beneficial. Multiple mutations are
deleterious even in bacteria.
4) Transitional forms from one kind of creature to another kind of creature are not
observed
in nature either in the fossil record or as living examples.
5) Vast time periods are not observed as making life probable from inorganic matter.

The evidence for evolution
”No theory should be presented without some evidence” Taken from Foundamentals
of Historic Geology by David Dathe.
It is said that Darwin derived his theory from his five year voyage on the Beagle.
His field studies in Britain and Library Research.
The Claim of Anatomical Evidence
1) Embryology – A close resemblance of embryos of certain organisms.
2) Homology – A similarity in certain structures such as bone and limbs in some animals indicates they have been modified for different functions.
3) Vestigial Structures – Organs inherited from an ancestor that now serve no purpose.

The Claim of Biological Evidence
1) Selective Breeding – Microevolution has been demonstrated in selective breeding.
Ex. Changes in plants and animals.
2) Ontogenetic Changes – Evolution demonstrated during an organisms life time. Ex tadpole to frog or caterpillar to butterfly.
3) Biochemistry – Similar biochemistry of organisms implies common ancestry.
4) Paleontological - Evolution is clearly documented in the fossil record.

A Critical Look at the Evidence for Evolution
With the exception of vestigial organs and selective breeding, all of the above
are arguments from Homology. That is that if something is similar to something
else it must be related.
Anatomical
1) The recapitulation theory was found to be a hoax.
2) Similarity is a weak argument as evidence for evolution just as saying the wheels on a motorcycle indicate it evolved from a bicycle. The motorcycle requires new and different information not found in the bicycle or a predecessor. A tornado rearranging parts and pieces on a bicycle even with natural selection picking out the” best” would never evolve into the motorcycle regardless how much time.
3) If there were true vestigial structures they would indicate a loss of information not an increase as required by evolution. Ex. Blind cave fish. Loss of function from lack of use an example of 2nd law of thermodynamics.
Biological
1) Selective Breeding is simply expressions of genetic variation found within the kind. It is just selecting a particular book from a library containing but one subj.
2) Ontogenetic life cycles - Many creatures have an aquatic stage in their life cycles. Ex. Salamanders, many insects such as mayflies, dragonflies, mosquitoes, etc. These creatures are not slowly evolving out of water but rather completing their life cycles through water. Their life cycle is a genetic program being executed according to existing instructions. (see note below) Winged insects fossils have been found in what is considered to be very old strata Their supposed evolution is a mystery.
3) Similar biochemistry simply implies that organic life on a common planet have common organic functions and were designed by a common designer.
4) There is no evidence in the fossil record that clearly documents evolution; In fact the fossil record argues against it. ex. Cambrian explosion.
Note: Metamorphosis (changing form) in creatures is not an indication of evolution.
Some aquatic bugs are said to undergo gradual metamorphosis (paurometabolous) where the immatures (without wings) share the same habitat with the adults. Dragonflies, Mayflies etc.are said to undergo incomplete metamorphosis (hemimetabolous) where the immatures live in a different habitat than the adults.
Caddisflies, Dobson flies etc. are said to undergo complete metamorphosis
(holometabolous) where the immatures are dramatically different from the
adults. The life cycles of all insects that undergo metamorphosis are complete and adequate by design and are not a picture of evolutionary transistion to a more favorable form.
The Importance of Critical Thinking
Critical thinking should have as it goal the discernment of truth. To do this we must be able to identify the foundational presupposition that lies behind any argument. Is the foundational presupposition based on what is revealed in scripture or does it have another source? Ex. “We have to work down through the fossil record 65 million years until we hit evidence of the dinosaurs”. True or false?
This would mean 65 million years of struggle and death before dinosaurs! Yet scripture clearly says that through one man sin entered into the world and death by sin. (Rom5:12)
Perhaps this means only spiritual death (separation from God)? Scripture also reveals that physical death is also in view. (1Cor15:21, 22)
Progressive Creationism is the assumption that God has increased the complexity of life on earth by successive creations of new life forms over billions of years while miraculously changing the earth to accommodate the new life forms all through day –age periods. Yet the Bible describes six solar days in creation “It was evening and morning…” God also describes His work as completed in six days. (Gen1:31;2:1,2) and (Ex20:11) Progressive Creationism is similar to Theistic Evolution except that God intervenes with special creative acts separated by long time periods. The long time periods are to accommodate Charles Lyells ideas of Uniformatarian Geology (The idea that each layer of earth strata was deposited over long tranquil time periods.) Progressive Creationism has as its foundational presupposition the ideas of Charles Lyell, not those derived from the flood recorded in the scriptures. (2Pet3:3-6)
The Evolutionist’s world view asserts that science contradicts the Bible.
The Biblicist’s world view asserts that a correct understanding of both true science and
the Word of God will always prove them to be in harmony.
For the Biblicist any a priori assumption must be developed from the straightforward and plane meaning of scripture. This is reasoning from scripture in our interpretation of the world in which we live.
“ …God’s special revelation…was spectacles that we must put on if we are to correctly read the book of nature… God’s revelation in creation. Unfortunately, between the beginning of science and our day, many scientists have discarded these glasses, and many distortions have followed.” John Calvin
The Tower of Babel
It may be that the original Protevangel (The first proclamation of the gospel) recorded in Gen1:14 was later depicted by Adams descendants in the stars as a permanent record for following generations; If so, Satan’s first order of business would have been to try and corrupt that record and confound Gods message of hope. The stars were never chaotic in their movement (Job38:31,32; Isa40:26), all Satan could do is give them a different story.
Nimrod by seeking to open another door to the spiritual world gave Satan this opportunity.
Perhaps only a hundred years earlier the world had been destroyed by the flood. There may have been as few as 1000 people at the Tower of Babel. To Satan it must have looked as though the word of God would indeed fail but faith in God’s promise was in the hearts of a few (Noah, Shem and others); but by the time of the Confusion of tongues (Ps2:1-4) and the Dispersion, Satan had sown his tares among the wheat.

Spiritual Babylon (Rev17:5)
Astrology – The Divination of the supposed influences of the stars and planets on human
affairs by their positions and aspects.
Spiritism – Seeking knowledge and sensual experience from the spirit realm.
Pantheism – A collective recognition and worship of all gods. A deification of the forces
and laws within the universe.
Evolutionary Pantheism – The progressive ascent from a lower form of Being to a higher.
Polytheism – A belief in many gods.
Demonism – The worship of evil spirits.(Col2:18; Rev22:8,9)
Atheism – A disbelief in the existence of a God.
God’s warning and judgement (Isa47:13-14; Deut4:14-19)

We are not ignorant of his devices 2Cor2:11
Note: The term “The Host of Heaven” is used extensively in scripture for both the angles and the stars. They both appear to be referenced in (Neh9:6)
A Biblical Anthropology

Man is more than a mere physical body, we know this because man is said to be made in the image & likeness of God.Gen1:26,27. This truth opposes the false teaching of materialism which ignores the distinction between mind and matter. Evolution builds its foundation on the primus that matter itself has evolved and brought forth the mind. The distinction between mind and matter can be seen from Scripture.

God is Spirit
God is Spirit. Jon 4:24 Since God is incorporeal, invisible and without material substance then we must be endowed with faculties thru which we may worship God apart from are five senses, thus to be made in the image and likeness of God has as its primary purpose that we may love and worship God with our whole heart our whole soul and are whole mind. Yet we know that man has undergone spiritual death at the fall, that is, a spirit separated from God.Rom6:23; 1Cor15:22. To worship God then we must first be made again in His likeness i.e. a spirit that is alive to God Eph2:1 and this God does through His word. Col2:13; Act17:28, 29; 1Pet1:23; Jon20:31.

Born of God by the Word
Jon3:1-21 With the new birth man then becomes a functioning tri-unity made up of a living spirit, soul and body and is now able to have fellowship with the triune God. Our thoughts & conceptual ideas are non-physical in nature and originate in our intellect. They are not the product of neural activity in our brain cells. Wilder Penfield, one of the worlds leading neurosurgeons, declared, “The brain is a computer programmed by something independent of itself, the mind.” Dave Hunt reasons from scripture “This nonphysical entity which we call “mind” belongs to the soul and spirit living temporarily in the body of which the brain is but a part.”
Naturalistic Materialism can never explain life because it denies its Creator. The very One who’s words are spirit and life. Jn6:63

Developing a Biblical World View of Creation

Developing a Biblical World View of Creation

God spoke the creation into existence through Christ. (Jon1:3;Col1:16;Heb1:2)
God spoke the creation into existence from nothing. (Heb11:3)
The Greek word “bara” means “created” and is used in scripture only for the work of God. (Gen1:1,21,27)
He calls into existence that which had no existence. (Rom4:17)
Nothing can be in a state of becoming. Why? Because creation is His finished work. (Heb4:3)
God spoke each aspect of creation into existence instantly. (Ps33:6-9; 148:5)
The miracles in the New Testament reflect the instantaneous creative action of Gods Word. (Mat8:4, Jon11:43, Mk8:25)
God’s creation of different kinds of creatures was simultaneous. (Gen1:11,21, 25)
Note: There are no intermediate forms resulting in different kinds. This includes man (1Cor15:38,39). Man is made in the image and likeness of God (Gen1:26) In the beginning mans spirit was alive to God and capable of fellowship with Him.
There is a qualitative distinction between man and animals. Gen1:27
Man and beasts have a common mortality. Ecc3:19-21; Job34:14-15; Ps 104:29 but not a common destiny Ecc12:7 (see biblical anthropology handout)
God spoke the creation into existence with functional maturity (Gen1:11)
Christ is the sustainer of all creation. (Col1:17;Heb1:3)
God has given us a perception of Himself through His creation. (Rom1:20) This is the natural revelation. No effect is greater than its cause. Henry Morris points out that “God is the only adequate cause to produce a complex and ordered universe.”
